Hi - I have had a coral beauty in a 20 gallon QT tank for a week with a royal gramma and 2 zebra dartfish. I haven't started copper or anything else. I've done 2 water changes of about 4 gallons, so about 20%, and ammonia badge & Salifert ammonia tests show safe/0.

All 4 fish have been eating & swimming around with no odd behaviors that I've witnessed. Today when feeding, I noticed the CB has something white in its gill, only on one side Coral Beauty 1.jpgCoral Beauty 2.jpg.

Nothing on the other fish that I can see. I looked through photos but haven't found anything similar. Any help would be great!

thanks

The pictures aren’t super clear, it could be lymphocystis or a minor bacterial infection from an abrasion.
You should start coppersafe this weekend so something else doesn’t get started with them.

Please re-post pics under white lighting and a little closer as I too see what is bacterial injury even from PVC pipe.
eating is good, but with no meds- You are running an observational tank subject to parasite suddenly breaking out.
Treat with Coppersafe or Copper Power at therapeutic level 2.0 -2.25 For a FULL 30 days monitored by a reliable Copper Test kit such as Hanna Brand- No API brand. Also monitor Ammonia levels while in quarantine with a reliable test kit and add aeration during treatment using an air stone.
