White fluffy algae destroying the tank

Hello everyone, for the alsof couple of months I have been struggling to get rid of some kind of weird white brown cloudy fluffy algae never seen it before. Can’t seem to get rit of it and will clog my filter sock in just 1 hour so I can’t keep my filter socks in. I dose nopox everyday 3 ml . Together with a small refugium with chaeto 8 hour light. And the algae is slowly covering the tank with it and k absolutely don’t want this special because a lot of my frags and corals also get algae on them and don’t open often or fully. I ask allot of people if they know the algae but no one knows it. I hope anyone can help me

Tank has been running from Jan 2022 and in Jan 2023 I upgrade my tank form 40 l to 92 l with all the fish and corals , live stone .

What are the nitrates and phosphate levels?

what size is the tank, is this the 24 gallons tank? Should not have a tang in 24 gallon tank, they need larger than 100 gallon tank......

the nitrates are around 30-50 , and the phosphate is coming down from 40 to 23 atm
it is a 92 l or 25 gallon tank and the tang is around 3 months old once it gets to big , i get a new small one from my lfs and give them mine so in that way i can keep them without being in a to small tank

Could this be bacteria instead? Chrysophytes (@taricha)?

In your OP, I didn't see anything about weekly water changes in your system maintenance. Faithful, weekly water changes will go a long way in keeping your tank clear of free-floating debris.

While there isn't any milky white cloudiness consistent with a bacterial infection, I wonder if those clumps are bacterial.

Are you using a hang on back filter?

I use a hang on the back for the refugium , and use the build in filter chamber in the tank it self , and the tanks looks like that because i blow them off the rock and then scoop them out of the tank , and i just took a photo then , i will later post a photo , without me disturbing the view

It is more like a string kinda like black beard algae in fresh water but then in salt with brown yellow / white look

I know if the tang gets bigger I need to move , but this was intended because ones it gets bigger I sell it to my lfs and I get a new small one in return so I can keep a tang without a big tank , the tang is only like 4 months old so around 10 months I am going to sell it and get another young one

Yes, you did mention it is an AIO.

If there are any filter sponges, it is important to pull them and clean them thoroughly in old tank water. Sponges can become a breeding ground for bacteria if you don't keep after them.

Hard to tell from those pics, but chrysophytes do look like a possibility.

Do you mean I maybe have to much bacteria in my tank because I have been running around 2 months ( 2 weeks ago I stopped ) using a bio pellet reactor and at the same time Red Sea NO3PO4-X and I know it increas the bacteria amount but can this be the reason ?

I'd stop dosing everything if I was in you're position tbh . You have done bio pellets , nopox this and that constantly changing dosing methods. I'd just do a few 20% water changes every week and let things get stable . You are trying to hard .

I once had a smaller tank (about 10 gallons) with a HOB filter. Over the course of a day or so, the water turned milky white.

It was correctly pointed out to me that the sponges in these types of filters can become populated with a bacterial infection causing the milky white appearance. This is not the same bacteria as your nitrifying bacteria colony.
