I am in the early stages of planning To upgrade to a larger tank and looking for some advice. The location will be in a corner and the maximum length is 30” and width is 24”. If I go with a 30” long tank, I the right side of the tank will be flush with the wall. I plan to go with a sump, not an AIO. Also, I potentially could use space behind the right wall to house some equipment.

What tank do you recommend
and why?

1) Go with a 30x24 and have the back and right side black with the right side against the wall?
2) Go with a 24x24?
3) Go with a 24x<24? What width?
4) How deep? Will I regret going 24 deep?
5) How tall should the stand be?

For reference, the mock-up is 30x24x24 and 30x24x18. Both are shown at a stand height if 36”. The existing aquarium is a Fluval 13.5 on a 30” stand.

Thank you in advance!!

Thanks for the reply. I am really looking for more of a tradition cube or rectangle shape vs the true corner tanks.

I wish! There is not enough room between the table/chairs and where a tank would be.

simple get a smaller table...haha J/k but not really.

I do like what @Idech said that moght be an option maybe with a 3' tank? something like the WB 90.3 or the RS xl300 or the like?
do another moch up with PVC or cardboard and see if you like it. dont forget to get the wife's option too.

on a side note how much time do you spend in the dinning room? I have found tanks to best in the room where you spend the most time.

It’s a relatively open floor plan so I see it most of the day.
