I got a medium sized green finger leather I want to frag. Should I just cut off the “branches” and leave the “trunk”?
That should work OK. I found that leather corals are VERY forgiving when being fragged.

I will usually cut branches, but leave some with the main trunk. Do it outside the tank if you can to avoid the nasty mess that comes with it and use gloves.
Leathers smell real bad on the hands. Or maybe it is my oversensitive senses.

Yeah, I did the cutting in a tupperware. . . did not wear gloves though. . .

I though the cuttings had a sort of piney/wintergreen smell haha

in general though I do notice corals have an odd smell
Corals really do smell weird. I fragged a favia for the first time the other day using bone cutters and it was one of the worst things I’ve ever smelled.
