I have an order of 3 fish (royal gramma, tail spot blend and firefish) and an urchin being delivered on Thursday.

How do I go about acclimating them? Do people typically acclimate them all in the the same bucket, do I split up the fish vs the urchin or do I have to separate them all due to stress/aggression while acclimating?

Just trying to figure out the logistics or am I over thinking this!

I take a sample of the water the animals are in and check salinity. Then I match the quarantine salinity to what the shipping water was, float 30 minutes to match temp, and put them in QT. Fish are often as low as 1.020. I would expect the urchin to be shipped closer to 1.026 since they can be sensitive to water chemistry. Each day I raise the QT .001 until I get to 1.026. My philosophy is to get them out of the nasty shipping water as soon as possible, so I don't do a long and drawn out drip.

Go easy on the urchin, more sensitive than fish.
Float bag 20 minutes, put fish in 1quart container, float in tank, cover from light.
Remove 25% cup water, add 25% tank water every 20 minutes until sg is within 0.001.

So you place all the fish in the same container to acclimate? No worries about stress or fighting?
