So, I left to do Christmas with the family, all was merry and bright! I get home my Tunze Nano ATO has went absolutely crazy drained the reservoir, and made my tank overflow everywhere. My power supply for my Kessil A360WE, so luckily my house did not burn down, but it sure stunk to high heavens....

It's supposed to. It always has before. I don't know what caused it to do it. .I pulled the pump out of the ATO tank and just kept running. They are supposed to kick off if the reservoir is dry as well. It has worked great up until then.

Check to see if it's plumbed right. If the ato tank is higher then where the ato line feeds it will siphon.

dang - Tunze is the top of the line, most dependable unit there is. I guess this is a good reminder that everything can go haywire. Situations sucks for sure. It's hard to do on smaller tanks, but keeping your ATO reservoir small enough so it can't overflow the tank is probably a good lesson for us all to take away. I have a 5g reservoir on a 29g tank and it would for sure overflow. But my 35g reservoir on the 200g can fit into the sump...of course the salinity would be jacked!

why is it that every single time we leave our tanks for a few days something bad happens? Well not all the time but most of the time. I have had my share of incidents myself. I am currently on my 2nd week of vacation away from my tank and has set up an IP camera to view the tank from time to time. So far everything is fine via my cameras view, crossing my fingers

Yep. Checked that. Tank is under the stand. I have the feed line spilling unto to return side of the tank. It Is out of the water as well.
But the out put line from the tunze is higher then the water level in the ato container. This had happened to me but I caught it right away. I had to run a piece of pvc up the back of my tank and I have the ato line feeding into the pvc pipe which drains into my fuge now. Cause the only other way for that to happen is the optical sensor fail and the float valve fail at the same time. Also if it new you should clean the optical sensor with hot soapy water. When I first got mine it used to over fill till the alarm went off a few times. Someone Recommend to clean it and that never happened again

I have been thinking about a ip camera. Haven't done it yet. Is it easy to set up?
I just got the d.link off Amazon. Was like 40 bucks. Have it in my sump when I was on vacation so I could see the skimmer. So I knew if it overflowed. It can shoot video in the dark. It took me like 10 min to get it going. And usually it takes me all day to do something like that. Mod# dcs-934l. I have it mounted on a filter sock holder. For 40 bucks can't go wrong and the pic is great.

The Nanos version does not have the optical sensor. I have the out put line above the water level in the ato tank. There isn't a sump on this tank, it is a 14th biocube.
