Hi, can anyone tell me what type of Algae this is? It seems to be like a sponge and growing around my Zoas. Also grew around my chalice and caused it to bleach around the outer area due to lack of light.

Appreciate the help.

The kind of algae that looks like one can pull out with one's fingers or one's long reef forceps

It's hard to tell what species of algae it is because of glass distortion and apparent movement. And the color of light you are using.

Perhaps turn off the flow
Hold camera lens parallel to the glass
Turn on the white lights

If specific identification is really required or wanted

A little better?
Sorry, still out of focus.

Google Bryopsis images. This algae has a feathery structure. Hair algae has plain filaments or hairs.

is it only on that one frag plug, or everywhere? If its only on that frag plug, take the plug out of the tank.

If its everywhere in the tank, then it will help to get parameters, tank age, tank pic, filtration, etc....
