I have a mated pair of Circus gobies that hang out at the very back of the tank underneath the LR and I was wondering if anyone knows of a PC video camera or something I could set there (I was going to scrape a section of the back) so I could watch them. They never venture out and I believe the female laid eggs and the male is gaurding them. It would have to focus at about 4-8 inches.
Anyone know of something that might work that I could watch them real time on the monitor?

My little Canon SD1100 IS point and shoot does an excellent job of capturing videos. You might try something like that. I think you can hook some of those cameras up to a TV or monitor. I'm just kind of somewhat guessing, but today's point and shoots are impressive in what they can do and they would be small enough for this kind of application. It would be nice if our animals would cooperate and do these things in the front and center of our aquariums.

I agree with gparr, most of the new cannon camera have that feature. I know my EOS 50D has a hdmi port that I hook up to my plasma and works really well. But the 50D cannot record videos. When you hook it up to the tv it will only give you a live veiw.

Hey, thanks. That's an idea. My camera may actually be capable of doing that. It has a connection that says AV/out.
