I was given this base rock as a prize and it looks like a dish. Do I put rocks over this or just let it sit by itself? Would this be good for a clam or something else? What's your opinions?

yes to all the above. you can stack other rocks on it as a base, or use it on the sand by itself. a clam could go on there as well. the skys the limit

Agree with above. The only thing I notice is you'll have to have enough flow or the dish like design may trap a lot of detritus. Also I've found rocks cut flat are a haven for bristle worms. I love that but many people do not that's only why I mention it.

Its a nice piece of flat rock. You can wet drill holes into it and add frag plugs or place on sand for scoly, trachy and similar corals
