How much flow from powerheads do I need in a 45 gallon reef tank, I have a Red Sea X170? I put a 480 powerhead in and it seems to be a lot of flow! But I do see small sediment and such up off the bottom in the water moving around so maybe this is right, not sure.

I thought my tank was getting too much flow and cut back. It only seemed to cause more problems when I did, so I increased the flow. Tank and coral look healthier/cleaner with the higher flow. Having a problem with some frags that aren’t too secure getting blown around but nothing causing damage long as I put them back. Also have a problem sand moving around but a little bit of research told me I needs different sand mixture so I’m going to try that and see what happens. Still experimenting here and trying to figure that out myself
