Apologies for the blurry photos. I’ve been looking for a Solon wrasse for my 90g for a minute and was in my LFS on unrelated business when I saw this guy. He was labeled simply “fairy wrasse” and the employee on duty wasn’t able to give me a specific species name.

I’m relatively confident it’s a solorensis, but I wanted to check with the experts here. The biggest red flag to me was the price— $50, when every other store around here where I’ve seen a solorensis has them at 80-100 a piece.

What’s the verdict? Just get lucky on the LFS being unable to identify the fish or is it something else?

A gorgeous male Cirrhilabrus aquamarinus previously known as Cirrhilabrus solorensis but that name got split down to 3 species;
Aquamarinus, Solorensis and Chalasai.

So I was…kind of right? Is there any material difference in care between the three?
Honestly not really, all 3 species are the same in care - in fact pretty much all of Cirrhilabrus is really easy for care as it’s the same across the board.
