what kind of nudibranch is this????

hey guys i need your help identifying this nudibranch i found in my tank. it is the second one ive found so far in the last week and i found both in the day. one on the glass and one on a frag plug. they are pretty small one. one is tiny and id say the large one is no bigger than 1 cm. i havent seen any damage to my corals including montis or zoas/palys. also it has what almost looks like gold flakes on its back. if anyone can help me get an id thatd be awesome.

What color zoas were they near? if they were at all close to a gold flake the it's a zoa eating nudi. Kill it if it is and look for eggs

i dont have any gold zoas and my tank isnt loaded with zoas and i would notice if any went missing so im not sure what to think...

There are very few good nudis and tons of bad ones so I'd go with the better safe than sorry method. If you have him you could test him with some cheap zoas (if you have any) and see if he starts to eat them. I'd keep a close eye on everything and hope that it is a nudi that eats other nudis or something that you don't want in your tank. What was on the frag plug he was on?

i have already removed the two ive seen already because theres no way im going to risk it but im just nervous theyve laid eggs somewhere and ae acutally zoa eating ones

if you have these little guys, be sure to look for eggs.. they look like little white swirls and they will be attached to the zoas as well.

Thanks for the help guys. Really not what I wanted to hear but at least I can be fairly certain about what they are. I'll be sure to keep a lookout for more as well as any eggs. Pets just hope they didn't lay any eggs and I found the only two... A man can dream right? Haha

What would you guys suggest be my next step of action? Should I dip all of my rocks or just keep a close eye out or just dip all my zoas and not worry about anything else? First time I've really had to deal with any invasive pests during my time in the hobby.

Out of all the bad things that you could have in your tank this is not the worst. For me and many others this has worked just fine. First dip everything that you can. This should kill 99% of all your adults but will do nothing for the eggs. Next run a course of flatworm exit. This will kill anything that is left in the tank you missed. Make sure to follow the directions. Wait 3-5 days then run another course of flatworm exit. This will kill any of the nudis that were eggs during the first course and wont be long enough for them to have matured enough to have been able to lay eggs. Follow directions for that last dip and you should be good. Oh also when you dip look for eggs and remove as many as possible. This worked perfect for me. Hope it does the same for you
