A few days ago I was cleaning my HOB filter on my 10 gallon Nano Reef and noticed a bunch of these inside it and behind on the glass. Any idea what they are? Large Pods? They are about 1/2 inch in size.

On the right, I would venture these are pineapple sponges (harmless filter feeders)
On the left is an asterina starfish. Mixed reviews on their reef-safeness.
