I have this bubbly protrusion on my acan colony (circled in red). It’s been there a while and isn’t causing a problem. Does anyone know what it is?

It has some of your acan color in it so some form of new growth? The coral looks healthy.

This happens sometimes and we're not sure why (for a bunch of examples and speculations as to why this might happen, see my post in the link below) - it doesn't generally seem to cause issues for the coral, but the bubbles sometimes pop (reportedly leaving the corals more vulnerable to infection as the pop heals), and, in at least one case I've seen, eventually developed into a hole in the coral (though the colony itself was still fine).

It might be trying to reproduce. (asexual reproduction) Given time this bubble will detach and settle somewhere in your tank. If conditions are right it will grow a skeleton and you'll have another little acan on your hands. GL.
