Long story short I have had a coral banded shrimp and the same tank mates for a year now. About two weeks ago the shrimp had one of his huge claw arms ripped off then he went missing all together I was looking all over for.him I looked under the tank up at the sand and noticed the Critter in the picture im.posting. I was wondering what it was and if it could have taken on a full grown coral banded shrimp.

Kind of looks like a spaghetti worm to me. My huge coral banded shrimp passed a couple months ago after a couple years and the worms and hermits took care of the remains before I could even do anything about it. I’m guessing my Fiji puffer helped as well. Sorry about your shrimp! Mine was a jerk so I wasn’t broken up over it, but he sure was cool!

Thank you, yeah the shrimp just dissapeared and I have been seeing alot of hermit crabs eaten to pieces
Are you sure shrimp didnt molt and scavengers are eating the remnants ?
Worm is not a spaghetti but rather a syllidae worm which feeds along bottom on sponges and algaes
