What is on my firefish?! And will it spread throughout my tank?! I cant catch him been trying for days now have a fish trap coming really hope works

I got this firefish a little while ago and since I didn't have any other fish in my fish tank I just added them in idiotically. Anyways the firefish has worms coming out of his side I have no idea what it is any information will help even on catching him. Please help!

It's a parasitic worm that is often found on firefish.

Fresh water dip, manual removal,prazi, fenbendazole,formalin all may work. They arent usually too hard to kill. I dont know if can spread, the ones I have encountered have not, but I wouldnt wait to find out.

You could try prazipro in your tank if you cant catch the fish, but I would remove it and do a bath treatment instead.
