so I added my first corals about a month ago, and my hammer coral seemed to be doing fine always in a half a sphere shape and this morning it started to do this. is it a sign that something is wrong or is it just normal?

They can split? wow thats sick. Am very new to corals so ive been panicking everytime they do something different than normal.
Oh yes. They split.

If you wave your had at it or blow it with a turkey Baster the polyps will retract for you.

Pretty soon you'll be poping branches off it.

Not trying to steal the thread, but do corals get bothered when they do split?
My Aussie Gold Torch has been very grumpy the past few mornings and this morning I could see a clear sign it is splitting to two heads. It is usually never that retracted as you can see in my profile pic.

I've not noticed that no.
But geez corals like to freak us out.

My spawn will have a couple heads the just retract for no reson whatsoever. Do it for a day or two and then not do it again.
