What color background is best for a QT tank? Something that makes the fish more comfortable but easy to spot parasites and detritus. I'm thinking white would be best for seeing things, but maybe too stressful for fish?

I dont think anyone really uses one as its a basic hospital use tank. If you must - Black shows up everything within tank

The bottom and back of my qt is painted black. I used basic Michaels craft paint and a sponge brush. I then used a Krylon clear coat spray.

It makes it easier to inspect the fish.

Good question!
Black on three sides and the bottom for me when I can do it. The absolute worst is a QT that only has top down viewing - you must have clear lateral viewing of the fish. That’s why I don’t like buckets and tubs for QT.
