I've used brs rox .8 carbon its great but expensive. I looking to buy carbon in bulk. I have also looked at the difference between pelleted and granular. It looks like granular is the way to go as pellets have binders and less surface area.

I'd like advice from people who have large aquariums and buy quality but in bulk.

So whats everybody use too save money but still does a good job??

I'm old school on a lot of things and GAC is no exception. Believe it not, I've used the cheep API GAC for years and years with no ill effects. Just throw it my reactor, rise it, drain it and on the manifold it goes. I try not to over think it. Works for me. Your mileage may vary.

Well i desided to buy 5 gallon container of BRS Bulk Bituminous Aquarium Carbon i figure 80$ for 15lbs can't beat that even if it gets exhausted faster i can just change it more often. And 15lbs should last me like forever.

I think this works out to just over thirty cents per oz, right?
That's cheaper than the Penn Plax Pro-Carb I've been buying. Does this cost include shipping?
