Got this hg torch shipped today super stressed. After being in the system for 4 hrs it still looks deflated, and there are small strings coming hour from the body.
Do I still have a chance to save it? And what are these strings?

Looks like it's sweeper tentacles to me.
Hmmm, one of my goni under the rock is closed today after the torch went into the system. And I don’t see the goni tissue, but a big black slime on the sand bed close to the goni, was thinking if it has something to do with the torch

It's only been four hours. Let's see after it's had a dark cycle and the lights come back on.

Can you blow it off with a baster ? Wondering if it’s more of a slime
Yes, I can, andI removed them from the water. this is how it looks like in the morning 5 min ago. I am wondering if the black back in the upper part is brown jellly now

That looks like bjd! I used cipro and I think I have finally beaten it. Mine came in on a real "nice" frogspawn colony.

Do you remove the brown part before dosing Cipro?
Gently turkey baster it off in a separate container. I was afraid to dose the entire tank so I tried the kfc dip 2-3 times and it kept effecting torches after a couple weeks. I eventually set up a QT tank and moved all euphyllia and dosed cipro for 10 days. Seems to have fixed the issue for now. I'll tell you I never had something like this in the past I guess things change when you are away for 15 years.

Yeah if that is on it it is very unlikely that the torch head will survive.
I can see the tentacles are lifeless, as if I shack an health torch, it will close up quickly to react the motion. But this one didn’t do anything except shredding…. I wrote a feedback on the feedback session, and will review the seller if needed, it’s not first time I lost expensive corals due to shipping from them. I thought they’d improved during last two years

Thats unfortunate. Seems this is much more prevalent now than 15 years ago. I had a 120g full of mostly euphyllia never saw something like this. When it started in my tank I had to search the forums and have seen so many posts about it. All my torches were affected I have one that has survived. I was loosing a couple heads a week from multi head colonies that had been doing great with 1" flesh bands. I will stick to paying a little more from the vendors I trust for euphyllia from now on no matter how cool or price. I also have a dedicated coral qt now and meds to treat with for this so no more new euphyllia right in the tank for me.

i think you are 100% right, some of the sellers are just too careless even tho they might be quite of big name in the business.

This image definitely looks more concerning than the first.
