I’ve had her about three days and not sure what this is. I was told it was just stress and would go away. Don’t think it’s Flukes but maybe a Bacteria infection? IMG_1856.jpeg IMG_1855.jpeg

Hi. Could you please send some more photos, and some other info about the tank. Other tank mates, are you medicating with anything, and other basic information is helpful. Thank you!

This looks familiar as you have posted this before. As stated, its a bacterial issue and is not stress which would be faint looking dots.
May have stemmed from rubbing or scratching and fish needs to be moved to a tank with fresh salt mix and treated with seachem Kanaplex and added aeration.
Please refrain from cross posting which takes away from others who too are seeking answers to their concerns

Ok I’m sorry I was told to post here in fish treatments fish medics ‍♂️.
It’s an established 160g tank mixed reef.
No cureent treatments.
Have a Yellow and a Tomini tang. Fox face. I’ve had him about a week. He’s swimming and eating great no behavior issues just these blotches on his side.

No problem. I agree with vetteguy, use Kanaplex to deal with this, and revisit this thread if it gets worse. You can receive new attention on this threat by posting in it, which effectively "bumps" it to the top.

What I would recommend is to send pictures to Seachem Support and they can give you the best information What to treat with

In-tank you can try Ruby Rally Pro which takes a little longer but best treatment again in separate tank using Kanaplex. Consider quarantine as a practice as I see you have a foxface for a week and is in display tank

The Fox face I’ve had for awhile. The Tang I’ve had for a week. But the LFS I’ve been dealing with for yrs treats there fish and I had a deposit on this tang and waited ten days to get him. He eats great he’s not thin and is showing no signs of stress. He gets along with all the other fish. If it wasn’t for these blotches I would say he’s very healthy. I have another friend in the hobby that says it’s just stress from being in new tank environment and that this will go away. I was also told that to be safe with some kind of bacterial infection I could treat the tank with Melafix that I have but will check him again later when I get home. But I have a camera on him and watched him eat with auto feeder and he’s swimming around today nice . Just never saw blotches on fish like that but I’ve never owned a blond Nassau Tang.

No melafix which is merely a tonic made of teak tree oil and even useless in freshwater. Believe me- these are not stress marks. I have a 9" blonde naso and if frightened shows three to four circles, not patches which again is bacterial

This could be a generalized bacterial infection, but the fish seems bloated as well.

Newly imported blonde Nasos have been popping up with a variety of issues. My advice to folks is to avoid buying them unless they’ve been in captivity for 45 days or so.
