Hello! Newbie here. Please be gentle.

I have my first 3 corals, and they all seem pretty happy so far. But I’ve been worrying about this weird spot at the front of my zoanthid. It has a shape poking out that almost looks like a snail head to me. And then a weird greenish spot on front. Is it a growth? A problem? Damage? It’s been there since I placed it. I didn’t notice it at the store, but I was really excited. Taking pictures next time before they come out of the store tank!

any help identifying and educating me is appreciated.

Pics a little fuzzy. Do the antenna things extend? I'm thinking spinoid work, or bryopsis ??

They don’t move other than maybe just slightly with water movement. Just kinda poking out of there.

Any reco on getting a better pic? I’m just using my iPhone and forcing the flash on. That first one was my best pic of several attempts.

Try flash off. Getting too close forces fuzziness.
Assure tank glass and lens are clean.

Flash off and use a separate flash light to illuminate it works best for me on getting shots when lights are off. A spinoid worm won’t move and has a small tube that two appendages will come out of

Dang. I’m clueless. I’ll guess a stationary limpet or just a rock that the zoas were fragged off of. Curious to see what others say. Doesn’t look like the zoas are bothered by it though :)
They seem very happy. Except with Vlad (the blood shrimp) touches all over them.

Love how he’s staring that them like they did something to him

He hangs out in that spot all day. I guess it’s his station. And if I put frozen food in the tank he crawls all over the zoas and takes all the little bits of food off of them. I have one clown fish that gets close enough for him to touch with his antenna. He’s lonely, poor Vlad. Maybe the next fish I add will let him clean it.

Hahaha they like tangs IMO. I’ve kept a cleaner and a fire shrimp together in the same cave. Get him a buddy or something idk lol! Poor Vlad

Better pics. Its poriferan sponge. You can trim off with a hobby or paring knife

Thanks! I dipped it in revive before I added to tank. Will that kill a sponge? I will get brave and cut it off soon then. Just wanna make sure I do it right.
Liklely not But exposing it to air for 5 mins or injecting it with air or vinegar via syringe will
