Found a snail with this on him. Can anyone tell me what this might be?

Probably, limpet (note the volcano-like shell), a harmless algae grazer.

Limpets are capable of movement, Pulling it off is not a good option as they are well known for their ability to stick to solid objects. Still I am not sure

I hope it’s not. Never had these before. I’ve only heard horror stories about these things. I ended up super gluing it up and threw the snail back in just in case. Anyone else have Vermited snails? Am I doomed?

I have them on my rocks
