Can anyone help me determine if this is a problem. I brought this guy home just a few days ago. He is swimming around all over and eating like a pig, seems healthy. I'm a little concerned about the mark on his lower fin

Could just be a grain of sand, or could be ich. Were your fish quarantined?

Thank you for the reply. I circled area that I'm worried about. I did not quarantine the fish. Maybe a rookie mistake???

Top fin is frayed as well. Any one picking on him?

Feed well. Monitor breath rate to see if it goes above 120 bpm. Monitor to see if fins continue to deteriorate or if there are other signs of issues such as scratching or being lethargic.

It's pretty long to be a tooth scrape from another fish, but that's the most likely cause for this. It would have been one attack, so you likely would never have seen it. I suspect the blenny.

It could become infected, but for know, I'd just keep an eye on it.
