I thought this was a CB interbreeding problem, showing up with stress etc. Could it be his new tank mate the springer damsel or possibly the lawnmower goby being defensive with him? I also have 2 cave tunnels at my rockwork, so could he have just scraped his forehead going thru?

The dots is the only thing I’m seeing - I had it on my clowns a while back and it eventually went away. No idea what the cause is but it never seemed to cause a problem.
Yeah it seems fairly common. Maybe isn't from inbreeding after all? Only read up on it briefly
Will keep posted on updates and symptoms

My guess would be that it is related to the inbreeding, but with no real research done into it all we can do is guess.
Are you running carbon by chance? What are your params? When it happened to mine, I moved them into qt with no carbon and it did clear up. Of course, they have been with carbon numerous other times with no problems.

I started a thread on this, but nobody seems to know what this is. It isn’t genetic though, it can come and go. Severe cases may be fatal.

It's about a month old now, I may as well throw the carbon out then and wait to see

Yeah it seems to have filled out more over the evening, will keep a close eye on him
My last clown seemed to recover from his rash
Here's an updated picture

Update for anyone wondering, and for the record so we can hopefully understand this fully one day

The rash/marks disappeared the next day. I am starting to feel like it's stress-related as I had just put a springer damsel (been friendly far as I can see) and lawnmower blenny in within a few days of eachother, right before this
