I got a pair of WAV powerheads almost exactly 3 years ago. Last week I noticed one of them wasn’t shutting off so I unplugged it, cleaned it, and plugged it back in to find that it was completely dead. I’m going to check with Neptune but since it’s 2 years out of warranty I dont’ expect they’ll have any suggestions beyond buying a new one.
Now I need to decide whether to replace it with another WAV or with something else. I like being able to control it with my Apex and I want something more controllable than the plain AC powerheads. It looks like my options are:
I’m not crazy about spending $200 on another WAV with questionable reliability but it seems like reliability isn’t really a strong trait of powerheads in general and pretty much everything else is going to be at least $100 more with less functionality.
What’s my best option?
