i am wondering if the problem with the wet side magnet inflating is still present in 2023, with the new model qd.

i am interested to buy it.

@Georgi haven’t heard about that problem specifically. That said, I know a lot of folks created problems when they soaked the wet sides in vinegar To clean them. Vinegar makes plastic swell. I clean all of my plastic stuff (including my MP40s) using a citric acid solution.

Yes it still happens. I have another theory besides vinegar. I've always cleaned mine in citric acid and still have it happen.

I think a lot of this is user error. When cleaning these powerful magnets they get slammed down onto a metal surface like a sink and that is just enough force to crack the magnet inside just enough to create a path for water to enter in. After that it's just a matter of time.

As long as you're careful during cleaning, you'll be fine.
