Hi, can anyone tell me how to achieve anything below 1600GPH.

I had the MP10s and they were extremely loud since they were at the limit of my glass thickness, so I went bigger. The MP40s are nice an quiet but I can get them below 1600GPH unless I have it running on "FEED MODE".

: / sorry I didn’t give much detail.

I know i’m at 1600GPH because of mobius lol.

I thought they had a min of 1000GPH, no setting achieves anything less than 1600GPH.
Well no, if you use the app function properly you can reduce speed down to 1% if you want.

Yea that’s the thing, it is at 1%. Kinda sucks feed mode 1% dips to 600GPH, but then sky rockets to 1600GPH in any mode at 1%.
But the app let's you set the speed for 24 hour cycles so if you want you can have it at 1% for all 24 hours each day. I have mine set for 24% during the day and 18% over night in reef crest and lagoon modes.

My question was interpreted now it seems like I don’t know how to use a basic app lol. I’m very aware of the % but i’m giving it to you guys in GPH, I’m asking is there any way to achieve anything less than 1600GPH which is 1% for the vortech. FEED mode achieves this at 650GPH, but defeats the purpose.

You would think a power head that can give you 5000GPH at 100% would give your 50GPH at 1%.

Ignore the GPH listed in the app. If you put an MP40 down to 1% Max Speed in Lagoon mode the water barely even moves.

Ok fired up lagoon it is low, but still just a bit much.

I forget to mention I have a cube roughly 22x22 redsea to give ya a better understanding.

Or am I over thinking it and making it super weak for my fish, I see my little baby clown going bananas swimming towards the propeller, that lil dood is freaking me out. It's wild and eats a ton, like a little maniac he/she likes the strong current it seems.

Also, I read placing the heads as high as possible up until it creates a vortex at the surface then lowering is idea, these arent creating anything should i raise them up until theyre close to creating one then lower a tad?

I also noticed running it low in feed mode 24/7 doesnt clear out the surface i see a bunch of like dust particles accumulating since the surface isnt pushed around.

2 MP40s on that small tank? That's way to much. Only need one along with return pump flow.

That is why i’ve been saying all this in GPH lol.

I had two MP10s but running at 50/60% and they were annoyingly loud since the glass was at the limit recommend.

I thought getting these an running them at like 5% or something would be the same.

I have them about 3” from the top, they aren’t creating any vortex, the water is far from being violent.

I have a 1” clown that lines to swim right at them nearly touching them, little weird guy likes playing in the pumps. scares the **** outta me.

Is your glass half inch thick or larger? I doubt it. One MP10 would be fine on a small tank like that. As already mentioned, you can lower the pump intensity and type of flow in the app. Lagoon mode is the soft continual type of flow. You are correct to run the pumps 3 inches below the surface. Make sure they are on anti sync mode. 20x turnover for soft corals, 30x for LPS and 40x turnover for SPS which means combined flow from powerheads and return pump.
