So I will be started up a new nano tank.. I want to use my current live rock to help cycle the tank but I do not want to bring the vermetid snails with it. I am planning to pull out small sections of rock, manually remove all visible vermetids, and place in new tank. I hope any remaining vermetids will starve in the few weeks the tank goes without any fish or inverts. Please someone tell me if this plan is realistic and if you recommend anything else? Thank you!

Sounds like a good plan. Just break them if you see any new ones starting to form. I used to have a lot of them...then they disappeared. I'm not exactly sure what killed them off besides me occasionally breaking them.
