Varios 4 connection to Reefer 170 G2

Hi all,

I am UK based and have recently purchased a Varios 4 for my Reefer 170. Those with a Varios 4 return pump, how have you connected yours?

I plan to use flexi pipe, however I have a Reefer 170 and the Red Sea return barb is designed for 22mm pipe, and the smallest Varios 4 barb appears to be for 25mm pipe.

Am I OK to heat the end of the 22mm pipe in hot water to soften it and use it on the Varios 4 end?

Interested to hear thoughts.
