Hi all,
I'm sharing a document I've been putting together for work which calculates the UVc dose from a UV steriliser. You'll have to take a few measurements from the unit you have and you might have measure the outer diameter of the UV chamber and guess the thickness of the pipe (unless you want to cut one in half). I'll just leave all of my work systems in as examples. Once you have a dose, you can refer to https://www.clordisys.com/pdfs/misc/UV Data Sheet.pdf for a general idea on UVc doses required to kill microorganisms (multiply mJ/cm^2 by 1000 for µJ/cm^2).
Lamp arc length can be regarded as the light emitting portion of the bulb.
I'm highly confident that this is the correct formula and I'd be interested in seeing the specs of a range of units.
I've also posted this in another forum but decided to make an account here just to post this because no such calculator exists so I had to make one, I thought it might be useful to some of you.
Cheers,
Jake
