This urchin snuck in with 10 lbs of gulf live rock about 6 months ago. It’s about baseball size now and still growing.

I do, and it has never shown any interest in either of my urchins. I didn’t know that was a thing!
Weird! Maybe only if you have a breeding pair? I know the male spits the babies into them to camouflage them

The Rock Wrestling GIF by WWE

That’s kinda cool! So the mom lays the eggs, the dad then picks them up and spits them? What does the urchin get in return?
No dad carries the eggs in his mouth until they are ready to hatch then spits them

I love fresh live rock. 90% of my clean up crew travelled in on live rock, rock boring urchins, tuxedo urchins, a l9ng spine urchin, tons of crabs, mantis shrimps, pistol shrimps, all kind of worms etc.
Need to shine a touch in at night, you might have more hitchhikers after all

Haha...not really. I had a breeding pair....the baby bangaii would hover in the centre of my tube nem and around my bubble tips but not my long spine urchin...lol
Weird! The pictures of them in the urchins in the wild are so cool!
