I am sure this is a very easy solution question, but does anyone know how I can get my pictures to upload. I shoot them on my DSLR in raw, edit and convert them to jpeg, but when I try and upload them, they are still too large.

Gonna have this moved to the photography forum for more eyes, hang tight.

Best option is to either compress them or reduce the size of the image itself. There's a lot of websites that do this for free. Raw files will be huge. If you're looking to keep the same size image, uploading to an external image hosting site like Imgur may be your best bet.

How are you trying to upload the pictures? through the insert media in the bar above a post or attach files

When I upload my pictures from the camera, I have the option to save my pictures as raw and jpeg. then when I upload Pictures to threads, I attach files using the jpeg.

I have compressed them to jpeg. That’s why I’m unsure why they are still too big

appreciate the assistance, I am looking at some of the ones that did not upload and they are 10mb plus. I imagine that is the issue. Is my best option then uploading them to a site or trying to even further reduce them?

@joseserrano - you should be able to upload much larger attachments so that may not be the issue. You may want to also start a thread in the photography forum to ask for advice there. Good luck!

The file size can be as large as 122mb.

May I ask the browser that is being used? Have you tried clearing the history and cache?

Chrome. Why would this matter? I’m uploading from my desktop to R2r via attachment option. This is quite confusing if size isn’t the issue

The images are just too big I'm sorry. They are 6000 x 3376 and 350 resolution. That's huge! :)

For example our sponsor live sale home page banner is 700x200.

A good range to shoot for is 1200 or so pixels at max although they can still be bigger.

A good range would be what then, 1200x1200?

Your camera should have come with a software to handle image conversation. If you use gimp or photoshop that can resize the file for web resolution.
on pc paint has resize option too you need about 20% size for web
on Mac you have photos can do this too.
web images should not be bigger than 200kb
