Good Day Reefers,

Recently we noticed some new snails in our aquarium tank. They are quite everywhere except for the main display they are less.
We asked a local fish shop here in China however, he said that this snail is bad and will eat corals. He said we should remove them out of the tank. (There is a language barrier)

If anyone could please confirm on what kind of snail this is and are they bad or should we remove them?

We haven't seen them nearby any corals and in fact some fish might have eaten some of them already. We do have some snails in our sand bed and also some Astraea snails.

Is it a harmful snail? I dropped it into the display tank and a tang came right by and snapped it up. Limpets only eat algae?
Most are good, I purchased good ones for my tank. Although there are keyhole and slit limpets that are identified by a hole or slit on the top of the shell, but they don’t commonly show up in our tanks like the good ones.

Got some clearer shots, it seems like the common type of limpets.

Agreed. And some with holes in the top that are harmless too... :)
