Do they show their colors in moon light or bright daylightYes, chalices are hard corals. They are in the lps or large polyp stony coral family. This particular piece looks similar to a Hollywood stunner. They grow over live rock like a blanket.

Ok thank you just learningIt depends on what kind of chalice. Some are bright under whites and blues. some are pretty drab under white and bright under blues.
