Those who know me know I love unique fish that you don't see everyday. So imagine my excitement when I was able to snag these two:

I've owned the Royal pencil wrasse before but never this guy, Small Tail Pencil Wrasse. Drooled over it in Kuiter's book, though:

Shrimp gobies are cool and I've never encountered this one plus a bonus yellow pistol:

Little secret, fish are actually way cooler than corals but you can't have a reef w/o corals LOL.

Nice Dave! That is one sweet wrasse. I love shrimp goby pairs, I picked up a Yasa hase goby and Randells pistol a couple weeks ago. They are grey hidden gems of the reef tank

Hey Dave,
Doing very well here, how are things on your end? Hopefully well! And im glad about those pieces, almost regret letting them go but they're in good hands.
I've always wanted a shrimp/goby pair. Which one is that one?

If you ever want a frag lmk. I like the yellow rose, Dracula or yasha with a Randall's pistol. Tiger pistols dig way too much. There are many other good pistols but they don't come to the hobby as much. That's a yellow lined shrimp goby with a yellow pistol I've not seen before, probably out of e. Asia

Blue zoo had a Dracula goby and Randall's that I almost bought, but I got a good deal from AM on my yasha

Randall's shrimp goby is another favorite. I think mine did not survive but you can never be sure with these guys. The Cadillac is the flaming prawn goby but they're so small you rarely see them (not good for a $159 fish).

The flaming prawn is very nice looking, guess in a nano it might be easier to spot. I like gobies in general though I forget which one I have in my tank at the moment. I do have a 10g I might try one of shrimp gobies in, though it'll probably be a 20 here soon.
But yes I agree, i had a greenbanded that I woke hardly see and whenever I thought it was dead it would pop out to say hi haha.

Dave, what temp do you keep your tank and how do you accomplish extra feedings durin the day? Everything I have read says they are cool water and need lots of extra feeding. Also what do you think about lower light? I have looked at several anthias that say they need lower light.

No extra feedings and 76 to 78. The first week or so he hid. After that he's been out all the time in spite of the intense lighting.
