I’m starting to put together the equipment for my almost ready tank. It’s a 50g tank with a 20g sump. I guess a 75g capable protein skimmer would work best. The one I had in mind has sold out on eBay, so I was wondering if you guys had any recommendations for a good, efficient, in Sump protein skimmer, with a 75g capability, for under $100 USD? With everything that I need to get, I have to keep the cost as low as possible.

I don't think you can achieve both an adequate skimmer AND under $100 for that sized tank.

This is a relatively inexpensive skmer that works well for that size tank.

Check the classifieds and craigslist for something similar if this is out of your price range. There isn't a new skimmer that is decent quality and adequate for that size tank under $100

If you are price limited, I wouldn't even do a skimmer. A refugium + filter socks would be far better if your goal is waste removal. I don't even think most tanks should start with a skimmer unless they have serious aeration issues.

I agree that with your budget I would look at used.
Well actually if it were me I would take @Bpb up on his offer and buy the one from him. I have bought a pump from him before and would gladly buy from him again.
