Anyone have experience with Uline Ice melt for dosing Cal? Calcium chloride from the major reef stores has become stupid expensive… BRS is $100 for a 5g bucket even at wholesale prices, which used to be the retail price! I’m down to my last gallon of mixed calcium chloride and at just under 300ml/day it won’t last long…. Looking for safe bulk options.
Same goes for Alk and mag. I have enough soda ash to last a while but I’ll need to replenish in the next couple couple months.

No experience but the SDS does not list the composition of mag and calcium chloride. I would be concerned it may have a large amount of mag chloride.

Look up peladow on amazon, 50lbs is like $62.

WC's take care of my mag, but I do use baked baking soda(soda ash) for my ALK.

Randys DIY 2 part:

There is also a new recipe for ALK that uses sodium hydroxide(lye) for an even greater PH boost if your interested.
