This will be a slower build. Price for the tank is too good.

The mantis shrimp isn’t doing it for me. I will be selling the Fluval 13.5 eventually. I want a 2nd reef.

Tank: IM15 (just ordered)
Light: NooPsyche K7 mini
Stand: Matching biocube 16
Wave maker: IM SpinStream

That’s it for now. Won’t see water for a while.

I’ll update when things are moving. I’m thinking either side of TV. Love the symmetry

I think I found the final scape. Not going to permanently attach the top rock until it’s in the tank.

I loving all the caves and crevices. Store just got the box of rock in. I got to unwrap them and have first choice.

Just waiting for the tank and lid. I still need the 1st chamber media chamber and a heater.

I’m going to use crushed Caribsea substrate again but only about an inch. I’m not going to have any pia diggers this time. Tired of sand on corals.

Want to focus on LPS, nothing fancy aka $$$. Will move the frogspawn and hammer eventually to the this tank. After a proper dip and examination.

Xenia and some Zoa frags will be my seeds. Xenia is on a nice chunk of rock. Been with me for a year. Dipped and cleaned too.

I know I want a Royal gramma. Unsure about other tank mates. No clowns. Any suggestions? Blenny. ”Gulp“ Six line.

Did I mention I’m waiting for the tank. Lol

Ok. Tank is wet. Have a few hiccups, but nothing huge.

The UV skimmers pump is bad. I bought it here used. Pump works somewhat.
I’ll have to reach out.

Im NOT impressed with the Jebao DCW-1500. Flow is weak wide open. Feels like the stock pump. My MJ 538 is much much stronger. I’ll let it run For a bit. But I’ll be returning for a replacement. Amazon is sending a replacement pump.

Scape is done. Tons is caves and crevices. Hoping to move the Duncan’s and Frogspawn later this week

Kinda cloudy. Rinsed the hell out of the crushed coral. Used around 12lbs or so.

Added a few frags to help jump start the cycle. Dipped and cleaned plugs. Dipped xenia rock. Looked clean. Some critters were bailing. All looked like good ones. Added to new tank. 3 Zoa frags. All thoroughly inspected

A few whiter light pics. I really need to get a filter for pics.

Royal Gramma coming soon. Tons of dark caves for him.

Well the new pump arrived and again. Not impressed. The Jebao DCW-1500 is garbage. No where near 400gph.

That’s 2 fails in a row. Such a shame. I guess you get what you pay for. Not a good taste of Jebao at my dinner table. Probably the last time I’ll try a Jebao product.

The stock pump seems to be stronger. I cut the hose to fit the larger pump. Ugh. I hate screwing around with equipment once it’s installed. Of course the heaters mount popped off the suction cups.

Gonna pull the Jebao and just use the stock pump for now I guess. I added the wave maker I had in storage.

Edit.
I installed the stock pump. The Jebao was probably 2 times stronger. Definitely no where near 400gph. Why is it that when you try to save a few bucks in this hobby it usually bites you in the butt. Should have just gotten the IM pump to start with. Lol

I added the first fish. A small tail spot blenny. He moved right into a deep crevice.

He sticks his head out happily eating food that floats by.
can’t wait to see him out and about exploring

The choice of caves is amazing. He is capable of disappear completely in it. Must be pretty deep

I’m also thinking, I know I know, with my scape A 2nd k7 might work great. Lots of shadows on the sides.

Well. I’m thinking about moving the coral from my other 15 to this tank and then moving the mantis to it.

my mantis is growing on me. Easy to keep. Awesome looking. he’s been out much more lately. The cats are fascinated and he seem to feel the same way
LOL

I also switched to a Pullaco? Amazon 400gph pump. $20. Pumps tons of water. Not a lot of control, but for the price. Kinda noisy. see how it sounds in a week
