I’m setting up a 220 gallon tank that I want to make acro dominant. I like the idea of the COR pumps from Neptune so I can connect them to my Apex. I want to do two pumps because I have dual overflows with separate returns. The return lines are 1-1/4”, so should I do two COR15s or COR20s?

I would go with two cor 20s. I've got one on a 130g and I don't think it's that powerful. I run it at full speed. The cor 15 would have been a mistake. Your system is about double, so two 20s.
