Hi. I’ve been having some tank issues but had recently gotten coral.

Curiously. My hellfire torch is extended. Also another torch has and ducan. However my hammer and cristata won’t extend. Been a few days they’re in the lower/middle part of the tank with not high water movement. Para

Nutrients as posted very low.
Missing parameters and an indication of how long you have been able to maintain those parameters without flux.

2 month old tank, so flux is probably ongoing. Also believe I may have a bacterial bloom ongoing.

Guess I’ll have to take my water to my lfs being that I can’t get any other para atm due to not having other testers.

Very difficult to be successful without knowing your water chemistry.

Alk is a major player, one we test daily.

Bringing chemistry in line followed by ensuring rock solid stability is vital, long term.

Then everyone that goes in does well.

Your nutrients are very low, Phosphate should be around 0.02-0.05 and Nitrates at 10-15 ppm. Hammers love magnesium so without knowing your Alk, Calc and, mag we can't give a good response as to why they aren't opening. I keep my mag at 1350-1400 and my hammers are quite happy.

Okay. I mean I had to dial back my nutrients because I had nutrient bombed my tank and had a massive algae outbreak. I feed my fish a cube a day and 1/2 a sheet of nori.

Phosphates are fine but nitrates are very low. Still need the other tests, if possible get them tested at your LFS if you don’t have test kits.

Okay. So nitrates just a little more feeding, correct? And yeah. I’ll run to my lfs

You can raise nitrates my increasing feeding but I recommend Brightwells NeoNitro, works much better than feeding increase.

I second this. Very easy product to use. I was stuck at zero nitrates for a while and neonitro worked and had no side effects
