After seeing the Adaptive Reef switch box for Apex it got me thinking if there's a way to make it DIY without. I have the Avast Marine breakout box for my Apex with open slots. Would it be as simple as wiring 2-wire toggle switches like these to my breakout box and have it do functions, like feed modes, if the switch is toggled on?

Yes - very simple. My jaw dropped when I saw how expensive that Adaptive reef box was.
Yeah, it's insane expensive.

I have this currently on my tank, simple feed button and a 'emergency stop' but I've made a few different iterations with toggle and push button style setups to control pumps for maintenance and etc.
