I have a toadstool that is about 3 years old. It’s about 20 inches wide. About 6 months ago I started noticing white botches just a few. It did really affect the leather it still fully opened, and you could only see them during water changes when the leather was closed. It has progressively gotten worse but the leather still opens fully. It is starting to look really bad. Does anyone know what this might be and how can I fix it. Everything else in the tank looks excellent!

I don’t have an answer, but I’d frag off an unaffected chunk just in case.

for some reason your picture does not open fully I only see about 20% so I can't tell. However my toadstool did the same thing. started out with a small white spot and it eventually grew. After awhile a hole appeared. Almost like something was eating it. Eventually the hole grew and then pinched a small section of the toadstool and just ike that, I had a baby! Stay calm and reef on my friend.

I’ve added a few more pictures including an adjacent leather that shown no signs of stress.

Mine is doing the same exact thing. And I just found a power cord that had 12volts dc and it fell into the tank for a couple months. I just removed the cord and I hope the white spot disappears. Look for something in the tank that shouldn’t be there.
