I’ve been thinking . And seeing as I haven’t restocked corals since the tank crash over 2 years ago .
just watching the current ones that never died spread .

im considering turning the 230 into a fish only . But knowing I atill
Need rocks for filtration as well as shelter for fish . I’m having a very hard time deciding what direction to go .

Part of this thought is because I don’t believe the t5’s are enough for 27” depth which I believe is
Contributing to my cyano on the sand bed . And poor coral growth

Xenia , palys and gsp are alive and spreading but I wish I could keep other corals instead. .

I have a bta on the bottom but over the last 2 years it’s lost most of its colour

Good excuse for a lighting upgrade, and reef it out.

Agree lights are the answer to move forward and easiest would be to utilize your T5s and add two Orphek OR3 light strips and get total coverage and PAR (sky Blue and blue plus)

The issue is it’s a 48” fixture over a 72” x 27” display .

I personally don’t like the shimmer from leds and why I have never upgraded or changed

No shimmer from Bars. A change of bulb types may be an alternative

I have another set of 8 new bulbs I’ll try changing first .
These ones are less than a year old . And no high light demanding corals I only assumed they could be enough .

You could keep mushrooms and maybe leathers?
