I’m working on repurposing a large plywood stand for a smaller footprint tank. Structurally I feel good about the plan. Going to beef up the inside with 2x6s and 2x4s, and put another layer of 3/4 hardwood ply on top for strength and to cover old plumbing holes.
My questions go out to the woodworkers out there.
1. Should I glue the new top plywood to the existing, or just brad nail? Worried about the top not being flat from warping
2. When adding supports to the inside of the stand, should I add glue between the existing plywood and supports? Not worried about strength. Just worried about moisture collecting between the wood, causing rot.
Pictures aren’t great. It is 6’ for reference.
