Get a double junction 60$ one from BRS. The ones that are expensive last longer (2 years) gives more value for money

So basically even expensive probes only last about 2 years?

I'm still running the original lab grade probe that came with my Apex in 2014, and it's been running continuously since then. I just recalibrated it about a month ago and it had barely drifted. Very impressive

Edit: before calibration it was reading 8.46, afterwards 8.32. And after cal the pH 10 packet read 10.00 and pH 7 packet 7.05. Still going strong!

i am always for spending extra money upfront to save in the long run. i am also all about paying extra for quality. i don’t skimp on my reef gear. but this is very subjective to each of us. just how important is monitoring ph to you?

Is very important, specially for measuring in a calcium reactor and freshwater CO2

Yes because in the future I want to use calcium reactor for my reef tank and I'm also looking for a ph meter/ controller for my planted tank so it can open / close the solenoid for the CO2

No, I don't have an APEX, I'm gonna use a custom controller

By the way what expensive probe are you talking about?

At BRS the most expensive one is the Neptune probe
