Just got this Cryptonite trumpet a couple weeks ago and there were a couple holes near the base that I assumed were from a hermit crab pulling the frag plug out of the rock hole and choke slamming it to the ground. But yesterday I noticed the holes are getting larger at increasing rates and tissue is starting to recede. Everything else in the tank is having no problem. Anyone have any thoughts? I have been using brightwell restor to try to save the tissue and spot feeding roids if i see a couple feeders out.

I don't see any sign of infection. That looks like clean tissue at the split. The rest of the heads look good. I would leave it. This isn't a euphyllia with BJD or elegance with elegance syndrome.

Looks like splitting as coral itself looks good

I sure hope so, there's more tears forming in the tissue now

Assure the water flow is not too strong -moderate flow is sufficient. Mine stopped splitting and just grows a bunch of stems now.

Here’s an update on the trumpet. Lot more tissue is gone and some skeleton is pokin through on heads. Weird thing that’s happening is last night all the feeders came out for the first time in like a week so I spot fed some roids and they came back out at 7am this morning so i dropped more in, ate those, and all the feeders are still out. Is this still considered normal splitting behavior? The head on the left is the splitting one.

This looks retraction opposed to splitting and reason for tissue loss will be high calcium, low alk, ph low, low phosphate or too much flow

My phos are low but thats the reason I use the roids since they are a direct source of phos. My euphyllias and acro aren't showing any stress signs. The flow its in is low-moderate. Im positive it isn't too much as there are still remnants of the food I fed last night on the side of the heads. If anything it's too little. Im really hoping it isn't a disease of any sort.

Does Not like disease at all. Continue feeding as it will strengthen its tissue
