8 month old sea monkey tank with some Gracilaria hayi that’s been in there since it was first setup. Amazing how resilient it is.

Cool....great idea!.Since seeing your Macro Masterpieces I have been growing some in three tanks.A cold water tank,My 78 degree display tank ,and a tank outside in the sun.The stuff grows everywhere! Since I put some in my main 50 gallon tank the water has been crystal clear.Have to go back to beach again tomorrow because my Sailfin Tang had a nibble of my Green Dot Caulerpa and was like "Dang! This is the real deal!Don't mind if I do." And proceeded to eat almost all of my macro algae in my tank. That's why I decided to grow it in two other tanks. Thanks for the inspiration.Dan from Texas

Update on my UNS 5N. Been battling dinos in this tank for weeks. But I've finally gotten things under control after adjusting a bunch of things, but I'm going to add a UV sterilizer to finish them off once and for all as well. A few recent shots of this tank (pretty filled in now!).

Lot more halimeda in this tank. Trying to give it a different look than my other tanks with more rigid and delicate looking algae.

Unfortunately sargassum didn't last long in my UNS 60S (lagoon). Seems pretty hard to keep in aquariums. Everything else is doing great tho. Recent shots.

Laurencia irridescens (my current favorite macroalgae)

Caulerpa peltata (which seems like a pretty slow grower compared to my other caulerpa)

I love your Laurencia. Can you recommend a source?

Set-up a janky tank with mostly spare equipment I had lying around to hold my macroalgae trimmings (previously was a tiny 5g plastic container). Hope to eventually set-up a legit grow out tank though.

Also trying to grow out Sargassum in here which is supper hard to keep long term. I'm trying to better mimic its natural conditions by letting it float to the surface and blasting with lots of light and flow.

Not going to lie, this tank is a lot of work. Currently battling hair algae which is able to compete pretty well with my display macroalgae, so hard to limit its growth. Haven't quite solved the mystery yet as to how to deal with hair algae without affecting the rest of my macroalgae. I'm manually removing but can't get to all the nooks and crannies where they grow. -_-

Was battling dinos in my UNS 45A as well, and finally got them under control. But due to my increased nitrate and phopshate dosing, my caulerpa prolifera and blue hypnea have exploded in growth. The tank looks pretty different now.

Thank you! I have 4 macroalgae tanks in total right now!

Haven't updated this thread in awhile, but here are some shots with my latest macroalgae tank which is basically supposed to be a grow-out tank, but ended up being a grow-out+. Even added a tiny pair of ocellaris (the darker one being a Darwin).
