And some random scenes from the 60S lagoon.
Great fish choices - the Blenny has so much character and the Springeri Damsel is such a vibrant blue. I have a Springeri as well.
You must be quite the skilled photographer - all your shots are incredible.

Some macro macro shots (plus a worm).

Hypnea pannosa. Super finnicky, but finally started to take off in color and growth in my 45A tank.

Gracilaria hayi. As hardy as they come in terms of macroalgae. Lower light intensity actually brings out its best colors (will dull out if the light is too bright).

Laurencia iridescens. The blue tint on this red macroalgae is pretty insane.

Dwarf feather duster (Sabellastarte indica).

Your macroalgae tanks look so amazing! I really like what you have done with them.
Also, your detail photos and information about the different species will prove helpful for me in deciding which macroalgae types to include in my own setup.
Thank you! Good luck with yours!

Nice looking macro algae tank I’ve always wanted to start one, great work
Thanks! You should give it a try!

Unfortunately had some losses in the lagoon over the past few weeks: waspfish passed and I think blenny jumped when I forgot to put the lid on one night. Also had a little hair algae outbreak that I neglected so had to pull out a ton of macroalgae. Tough few weeks. But I’ve been getting hair algae under control and tank is back on track (and won’t be adding anymore fish in here). A few shots from last night.

Current dosing regimen:

•Brightwell Aquatics CheatoGro (fertilizer)
•NeoNitro (nitrates)
•NeoPhos (phosphates)
•Ferrion (ferrous iron)
•ATI Essentials Pro Part 1 (alk)

Kudos to your display macro lagoons. How long have you used Brightwell ChaetoGro.

Iron is an included ingredient of ChaetoGro, yet I see you dose iron in addition to what’s in ChaetoGro. I agree that iron storage is common among many macros and it would be difficult to overdose iron. Do you have a fixed ratio of Ferrion to ChaetoGro?

I've stopped dosing Ferrion. I think ChaetoGro is enough. I tested iron and I was definitely over-doing it.

So ditch the Ferrion. :)

I can document iron storage in Gracilaria Hayi. Once, while dosing iron to 55G macro tumble culture growout tank, I dumped 250ml, instead of dosing 10ml of Seachem Iron.
Water was red for two days and instead of thin & slightly brittle, Gracilaria Hayi got thicker and somewhat spongy. After two weeks, everything returned to normal.
