Only issue with that is my local UPS yard (walkable distance) only allows will call pickup between 2-4 p.m.. ALL overnight from UPS ends up in the truck and at my door by 10 a.m.

I never have issues with deliveries, it was a outlier due to having to go to work on my day off and its hot as hell out @ the same time when the delivery got there. I'd be worse off trying to pick it up from will call.
Understood it just came up with Cherry Corals was concerned over heat in Phoenix Area, I believe the week he was sending everything we were 115 plus. I was lucky will call was open until 6pm. I work from home and he didn't want them even out on the truck that long. Sorry it's more challenging for you. Hope you find a workable solution that works for you.

The ultra irony is that it was from AquaSD, so about 95 miles from my place, lol. Since its in state, I dont mind the 20$ shipping, cheaper than gas and travel time.

The will call irony is real when it comes to UPS, I get I'm the total exception with them and shipping.

FedEx on the other hand I definitely will call, any coral shipments or else it wont be at my door until 4 p.m.. I usually get the email its ready for pickup at 9:30 a.m. ish local time.

Good info! I fall into the trap of looking at it being smaller than the others and my primitive brain goes “awe, sweet little girl.” I’ll have to refer to it as “little guy” now haha.

Thinking about it now, I don’t think I’ve ever seen a female pintail, and certainly not one that has been collected.
A lot of the time you won’t see females of most species of fairy/flasher wrasse. The reason for this is due to demand for males and not the females (many people find females to be ugly and boring in comparison to males).

In my 10+ years in the hobby, I’ve only ever seen one female Isosceles. And honestly I’ve not seen many females of other fairy/flasher wrasses.

Kinda interesting looking back in time. I always thought that the availability and quality of wrasses available increased significantly starting in the early 2010s and it was exciting. It seems like people are becoming more interested in females because of the possibility of a longer life span and the opportunity to watch a fish grow and transition.

Who knows, maybe the coming years will see more females being offered. I hope so, because after getting my female rhomboid, I’d like to go that way in the future!

Yup, especially flashers, which I understand have a lifespan of 4ish years, correct? Not sure how long fairies, leopards, pinkies possums and pigs (Halichoeres) live, and I haven't even looked into Anampses and Pseudojuloides.

In any case, I am looking specifically for juveniles/females, not angry old males set in their ways!

Generally the sand sleeping species can live for 7+ years IME. Especially the Halichoeres and Macropharyngodon species. Pseudocheilinops, Wetmorella, Cirrhilabrus and Paracheilinus generally live for 2-5 years depending on species.

Anampses and Pseudojuloides? When I get a big boy tank, A. meleagrides is top of my list. And for giggles, how about a broomtail?

P.s., henceforth I shall be calling Halichoeres "pigs". During my limited experience with Pig chrysus, she has dethroned my female clown as the tank glutton, and that's saying something.
They can be brutal with the food, lol.

My Cheilinus is a fun fish. It acts all shy until food then shoots out like a rocket bullying everyone else off the food.

I’ve been pushing that for forever :face-with-tears-of-joy:

I find they have the same lifespan of 5-7 years. That is if you can keep them through all the issues of outcompeting and sensitivity.

Well I'm down a wrasse. Two nights ago I caught the hawkfish bullying the Maori after lights out and this morning found it on the floor. I know it wasn't the prettiest fish but it had a lot of personality and seemed to be doing well. During the day at least.

If the hawk is to blame that would be the second fish it killed plus the goby it maimed. Its not even a big fish just a violent one I guess.
